Psychological Assessments by a MILITARY

Veteran Who Understands Your World

A psychological assessment is a comprehensive evaluation designed to identify specific mental health conditions, understand their severity, and provide a clear path forward for treatment. For military personnel and first responders, these assessments are crucial tools that help pinpoint issues like PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns that can arise from high-stress environments and traumatic experiences.

Specialized assessments are tailored to the unique needs of those who serve on the front lines. These assessments not only diagnose conditions but also offer insights into how these conditions affect your daily life and job performance

Types of Assessments Available:

  • PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) Assessment: Specifically designed to evaluate the impact of traumatic events, this assessment helps determine the presence and severity of PTSD, which is common among military personnel and first responders.

  • Anxiety Assessment: Identifies the type and intensity of anxiety disorders, which can manifest as chronic worry, panic attacks, or situational anxiety related to job duties.

  • Depression Assessment: Evaluates the presence and severity of depressive disorders, helping to differentiate between mild, moderate, and severe depression.

  • Bipolar Disorder Assessment: Diagnoses bipolar disorder by assessing mood swings, energy levels, and the impact on your overall well-being.

  • Personality Assessment: Provides a deep understanding of personality traits and how they influence your behavior, decision-making, and interpersonal relationships.

The Critical Benefits of a Thorough Psychological Assessment:

  • Uncover Hidden Issues: Mental health challenges like PTSD and anxiety can develop subtly over time. An assessment helps bring these issues to light before they become overwhelming.

  • Tailored Treatment: Understanding the specific nature of your condition allows for a more targeted and effective treatment plan. This is crucial for ensuring that you get the right support and interventions.

  • Maintain Or Improve Job Performance: For those in high-stakes roles, mental health is directly tied to job performance. An assessment ensures that you are mentally fit to continue your duties without compromising your safety or that of others.

  • Confidential and Safe: With Dr. Bruce, your assessment is private, ensuring that your mental health information remains confidential and doesn’t affect your career or personal life.

  • Proactive Mental Health Care: Taking action now through an assessment can prevent more serious issues down the road. It’s about staying strong, resilient, and ready for whatever challenges lie ahead.

I bring that understanding into my work, so you’re not explaining your world to someone unfamiliar with it.

  • Fast Turnaround: From your initial consultation to receiving your multi-page report, your results will be delivered in just a few days—no waiting, no wondering.

  • Confidential and Private: Your assessment and results are strictly confidential. No insurance companies involved means no one else needs to know about your diagnosis unless you decide to share it.

4 Simple Steps to Your Assessment

STEP 1

Book Your Free

15-Minute Consult

  • During this initial call, I will assess your concerns—whether it’s PTSD, anxiety, depression, or another issue—and determine the appropriate tests. You’ll also get a clear understanding of the cost.

STEP 2

Initial Intake Interview (1 Hour)

  • If you decide to proceed, you’ll book a one-hour intake interview. Here, I will take a detailed psycho-social history and conduct a differential diagnosis.

  • Gathering comprehensive information about your background, lifestyle, and significant life events will provide context for your mental health condition.

STEP 3

Online Testing

  • I will set you up with the necessary tests, all done online. If it’s a PTSD test, there will be an additional virtual meeting to ensure accuracy.

STEP 4

Receive Your Results

  • Within 2-3 business days of completing the tests, you’ll receive a comprehensive multi-page report via email, detailing your test results, scores, and what they mean for your mental health.

As a military or first responder, you’re trained to handle high-pressure situations and protect others. But who protects you? When your mental health is on the line, you need someone who understands the unique challenges you face.

Hi, I’m Dr. Bruce Parsons. I’m a licensed psychologist…. and I’m also one of you.

With four years in a combat role, four years in military law enforcement (Air Force EST), and a decade as a civilian firefighter and paramedic, I know what it’s like to serve in high-risk environments. I understand the toll it can take on your mental health, and I’m here to help you find answers quickly and confidentially.

Why Private Pay is Better:

These assessments are private pay only, meaning you’ll be paying out of pocket rather than going through insurance. While this might seem like an additional expense, it comes with significant benefits. Here’s why choosing private pay is the smarter choice:

  • Speed: No waiting for insurance approvals—get results in just days, not weeks or months.

  • Privacy: Your assessment is confidential, with no need to share your information unless you choose to.

  • Control: You decide how and when to use your results, without insurance company interference.

Don’t Wait Until It’s Too Late

The job you do is critical, and so is your mental health. Delaying an assessment can mean prolonging suffering or even putting your career at risk. Your ability to serve and protect others starts with taking care of yourself. The longer you wait, the harder it may become to get back to full strength. I am here to help—quickly and confidentially.
